Installation instructions
Follow the steps below , It usually takes less than 2 minutes for you to begin recording Teams meeting.

Double click the EvaerForTeamsSetup.exe file you have downloaded. Click the "Next" button in the window of the installation program until navigate to the last page.

Run Teams to make a call and click the "Start Recording" button to begin your recording once the call is connected. Or enable automatic recording at Evaer settings.
Why Evaer does not need a Microsoft 365 licence
Microsoft's built-in recorder runs in the Microsoft cloud: Teams mixes the streams, encodes the file and stores it in the organiser's OneDrive or SharePoint. That is why it is tied to a paid licence, why a tenant administrator can switch it off, and why the file expires on a retention schedule.
Evaer records on your PC instead. It reads the media that the Teams desktop application is already receiving and writes it to your disk, so there is no licence to check, no tenant policy in the way and no cloud copy to expire.

Audio and recording control
Audio can be captured as both sides mixed, your microphone only, or the remote party only. The last option gives you the other person's voice on a clean channel with no room noise, which is what you want for transcription. A built-in echo canceller removes speaker bleed when you are not on a headset.
Enable automatic recording and Evaer starts a new file every time a Teams call connects, which is useful when you have a day of back-to-back meetings. In picture-in-picture and side-by-side modes you can also swap which participant fills the main window while the recording continues.

Can I record a Teams meeting without a Microsoft 365 subscription?
Yes. Teams' own recorder requires a paid Microsoft 365 licence, but Evaer records the meeting from the Teams desktop application on your own PC. No licence is checked, no tenant policy applies and the free version of Teams is enough.
Will other participants know they are being recorded?

What video quality and formats does Evaer save?
MP4 (H.264) or AVI at up to 1080p, with resolution, frame rate and aspect ratio selectable. A separate MP3 audio track can be written alongside the video, and voice-only calls are saved as MP3 automatically.
